Test Results:(

The Dr.'s office called yesterday, and bad news... I DO have gesdational diabetes!!! Man, this pregnancy really has been hard. I'm still feeling kind of shocked. I think i've eaten better this time than any other. I've only made two batches of brownies, and they were both fat free, and I had to share them with the three kiddos. The nurse said because I'm pregnant, I;m considered an emergancy, and I will be given the first availible appointment to see the specialist, and I should hear from them today.
Has anyone else out there had this? I'm a little scared. I've been reading what I can on the internet, and it says it causes the baby to get really big in utero. My kida are already 8-9 lbs. at birth!!! How big is this boy going to get?!?!?!? Because of that I guess, the chance of a Cecerean is much higher - no way - that I absolutly DO NOT wnat to have!! Please please share if you've been through this too:)

My friend Crystal had this with her pregnancy. She just had to really watch what she ate. Everything turned out fine and she delivered without having a C-Section. I will pray everything goes smoothly. :)

Hey Shannon. I had Gestational diabetes with Trent and the twins. I cried when I found out I had GD with Trent thinking all these horrible things. All the babies were fine. For me, I had to see a nutrionist who taught me how to manage my sugars and I had to test my blood sugar 4 times per day and call my dr's office the next day with the results so they could monitor. I was able to manage the diabetes no problem. When the babies were born they tested their blood sugar levels for the first few days using their foot and all of the babies had no issues whatsoever. Trent weighed 8lbs 1 oz and the twins 7lbs 13oz and 6lbs 14oz...One thing I noticed with GD was I was extremely thirsty all of the time and I drank liters and liters of water. As soon as the baby is born your GD goes away because it has something to do with the placenta. They will retest your blood sugar though 6 weeks after the birth just to ensure your diabetes went away. Mine did. Sorry you got this. Bummer..

Shannon I was very border line GD I had to just watch what I ate..( I too never ate that much sugar) Just something my body does when I'm pregnant. My babies too were big almost 10lbs with Faith...I got really sick if I didn't eat protein. If I had any sugar I would get sick. Don't drink any juice!! Hang in there!
